'Cross border raid for away day success'
With their opponents having applied to join the Western 'Toolstation' League from next season, Saturday's visit may have be the last for a while but Ringwood deservedly came away from Wiltshire with the points.
From the start, it was apparent that this was not likely to be a free flowing match as the heavy conditions saw the pitch cut up easily.
Ringwood, with the better of the possession, took the lead just before the half hour mark when Jason Hardy was put through down the right wing. The subsequent cross saw Wayne Hole latch on to the ball and shoot home (29 min.) through a crowd of defenders from 12 yards out.
Debutant keeper Joshua Daley, the second in two games, collected crosses well and was not to be called on to make one save of note throughout the ninety minutes.
Edwards saw a goal ruled out by the officials before a Tom Yeats pile-driver was headed over his own cross bar ny home skipper Bunyard.
Warminster came out for the second half with more purpose but the Ringwood defence coped well, easily winning aerial challenges with the only real scare being a miscued Tyler clearance which ended up a little too near the post for comfort.
A second Ringwood goal was always likely to be the clincher but did not arrive until eleven minutes from time when Josh Brown capitalised on a through ball before rounding keeper Scott Lewis (79 minutes) and finishing with aplomb.
