Hamble ASSC Res 1

Today, again, a frustrating day for Ringwood Town FC. We started slow, with 5 yard passes and first touches looking like a daunting task for the boys on the pitch.

The 1st chance, and possibly the best, fell to Yeats who's fine first touch set him up with a free shot, but blazed high and wide at an angle from 8 yards. Any other day Sam would have finished, but it was just one of those games.

RTFC kept forcing corners and free kicks from a ref who was extremley poor, but Hamble had a 6foot7 keeper, so winning anything in the air was like fighting a war you've already lost.

4 minutes before half time, Blundell fed Yeats in on the left flank and Sam finally got his head up, rounded 2 players and squared Geary off who finally got a shot on target and sunk it, left footed and in the top corner.

A minute later, goal hero Gazza, smashed a back pass at his own keeper. Pearce was left with no choice but to hack at it, but unfortunatly it landed to a left footed midfielder who smashed it over Stu's head, off the crossbar and in.

HT RTFC 1-1 HAMBLE ASSC

The 2nd half started much how the 1st half was played, sloppy passing and end to end balls. RTFC did look alot brighter. Chattey dominated in the air again, and Hardy was looking lively on the left. But still no breakthrough.

Hamble broke quickly and a shot was superbly saved by Pearce and cannoned off the crossbar and the follow up struck the woodwork again. Pearce was bundled over by an opposing player and a contreversial decision meant that a goal was not given, despite the ball looking like it hit the back of the net.

Langridge almost bundeled a Hardy cross into the back of the net but forced two fine point blank saves from the keeper.

Adlem and Kamoah came on and did well, Nat coming close with a shot that blazed across goal. Barker came on and made some telling touches but overal did his job well.

Full time whistle closed a poor game with both sides wasting chances to win all 3 points.
Some positives were collected and every point counts.
